Aries Season 2027: Dates & Meaning

Aries season 2027 begins at the March equinox and lasts 30 days, with Mars and Jupiter both retrograde in Leo as it opens. Between a Libra full moon, an Aries new moon and two planets turning direct, the month moves from review toward action.

Aries is a cardinal fire sign ruled by Mars, and its season opens the zodiac year at the March equinox. Day and night are about equal as the Sun crosses the celestial equator heading north. Pioneering, frank and novelty-loving, the sign pushes everyone toward starting things and saying what they mean. Its shadow is just as familiar: acting on impulse, rushing plans that have not matured, and sliding toward extremes, jealousy or deception. The Sun stands for identity and the conscious will, so this is a good time to ask what you actually want to begin and whether you have thought it through.

This year the Sun enters Aries on Mar 20 at 4:24 PM EDT, and the season runs 30 days. Mars, the ruler of Aries, starts it retrograde at 21°47′ Leo, and Jupiter is retrograde too, at 17°50′ Leo. That is an unusual setting for a sign built on speed. Drive, courage and ambition are still being reviewed and redone rather than launched, so early impatience may have little to push against.

On March 22, 2027, the Full Moon in Libra at 1°35′ Libra lands opposite the Sun. It brings the state of your relationships and commitments into view and shows where things lean out of balance. It asks you to let go of extremes, to stop leaning too heavily on one other person, and to weigh matters impartially. Aries wants to act alone, and this moon is a reminder of the people affected. Venus, the planet of love and harmony, changes sign on March 26, while those questions about balance are still fresh.

Mars turns direct on April 1 at 20°55′ Leo. After the retrograde that began January 10, 2027, courage, anger and cutting decisions can move forward again, which suits a sign ruled by Mars. Five days later, the New Moon in Aries at 16°57′ Aries favors fresh schemes, original ventures and pioneering projects. It suits quick, prompt starts more than work that needs sustained effort, so pick what you begin with that in mind.

Mercury enters Aries on April 8, and thinking, speech and messages turn frank and fast, with the risk of saying something before it is fully thought out. Jupiter turns direct on April 12 at 16°59′ Leo, ending the retrograde that began December 12, 2026. Growth, generosity and faith get going again, and so does Jupiter's own tendency toward excess. Venus follows into Aries on April 19, which can make attraction and affection bolder and more direct, with both the good and the awkward that brings.
